Brooklyn Video Production Case Study #1
Dean & DeLuca hired us to create a recruitment video targeting millennials and asked us to film it in Brooklyn because of the young, vibrant population and also because the company has a corporate office there.
In addition to including famous sights such as the Manhattan Bridge, we also filmed near bodegas, graffitied walls, elevated subway platforms, and local apartment buildings for a sense of neighborhood authenticity. And our actors used every local form of transportation in their commute to work, including scooter, train, ferry, and skateboard.
To get all our shots on a tight schedule we scouted locations in advance. We needed to ensure each location would photograph well and would work with our planned split-screen approach. Because we know Brooklyn inside and out, we found a diverse set of locations right near each other, minimizing travel time. In the end, we got everything we needed to create an engaging and successful final product.
Brooklyn Video Production Case Study #2
The Virginia Air & Space Center asked us to make a video of Brooklyn author Peter Weber – the commercial pilot and star of Season 24 of The Bachelor – reading his children’s book Pilot Pete.
The client asked us to find a library aesthetic that was full of warmth and would appeal to kids. We knew the location needed to be near Peter’s house, and also had to be a soundproof space.
We looked back at our Brooklyn shoots and compiled a list of suitable locations. We also researched spaces that were new and revisited those that were not relevant to previous projects. Budget was an important consideration since this was a project for a non-profit.
We landed on a Peerspace in Williamsburg that was perfect for the reading. The shoot went smoothly, and both the client and the author were thrilled with the results.
